floodlit/Elijah Kellogg

Elijah Kellogg is the writer and frontman for American/Chinese Heavy Band, floodlit, but he is also a follower of Jesus and minister of the gospel among the people’s of Myanmar. Elijah was saved by the Lord and Baptized at the age of 14. It was then that he also first sensed his gifting and call to go and preach the gospel among the unreached and unengaged. That calling developed and blossomed in young adulthood, after Elijah had finished Bible School and married, moving his family to Southeast Asia in 2017 to work with regional missionaries among the peoples of northern Myanmar. It was there he worked with a small gathering of local believers to help establish community development projects, local sustainable businesses, and plant a church. For over four years the Lord used Elijah and his family to bless the community and preach the gospel of Jesus to the city, especially among the youth. However, in 2021 the reigning Myanmar military overthrew the previous years first, legitimate election votes, launched a coup, and once again seized power, not only destabilizing an already fragile state, but eventually bringing the nation to civil war. Months into the conflict, Elijah and his family had to emergency evacuate the country, leaving behind a humble, but courageous and powerful little, local church to grow and thrive on their own. Four years later, Elijah began to write songs to tell the stories of Myanmar’s families, conflicts, and learning to mourn well. Now, in 2026, Elijah has helped established floodlit, the band that will carry these messages of loss, pain, and hope to the world.
